Do you think Kit's bed would work for Molly style-wise etc.

Molly really needs a bed and I am not too crazy about hers. I have her Scenes and Settings and wondered if Kit's nice metal bed would look OK in her bedroom. I also thought the floral bedding on sale might work, especially the sheets, pillowcases and throw pillow---not sure about the spread, maybe on the subtle stripe side. Any opinions would be appreciated---of course everything is tempting with the code!!! LOL Thanks in advance.

I have Kit's bed for Molly and I love it! It actully holds two dolls when it folds out (so Nellie sleeps their too). I personally don't think that Molly would have had a "new red bed", there was a war going on and she would have used her aunts/mother's "old kit bed" [img]smile.gif[/img] I have never liked the Molly bed-too much red.

I also have the florial bedding and love it! It looks great on Kit's bed and it was worth the $22.00 I spent (now it's on sale) [img]smile.gif[/img]

I say go for it!

I also want to add that Kit's bed is very sturdy. The mattteress is soft and reversible and is folded into one mattereess or spreaded into two matteresses for the double bed.
I received Kit's bed for my birthday four years ago and when I did I received the entire Sweet Dreams Collection. It was the way to buy it: Kit's bed, Kit's PJ's, Nightstand, Nighttime Neccesseties, and Bedding for bed.

I think the floral bedding goes well with the decor of the bed and I use the floral side of the spread along with all of the pillows from both sets. It is all too cute!

Thanks--just wanted I wanted to know--and makes sense that she could easily have an older "hand-me-down" bed from her aunt etc. Glad you like the floral bedding set too!

<font color="royalblue"> Kits bed works, Definately !! I was disappointed when i bought Mollys bed because of the velcro at the top of the coverlet, and i couldnt figure out how she could "sleep" in it comfortably !! I sold it and went for Kit's bed, and its fantastic !!

I too think Kit's bed would be fine for Molly.

I just coded and received the nighttime necessities and nightstand for Molly, and here's what the pamphlet says about her room colors, BTW:

"Stars and stripes appeared everywhere, and red, white and blue were everybody's favorite colors. Even Molly's bedroom began to look patriotic with its red and white trunk, bedspread, lamp, and nightstand! On cold nights Molly filled her red water bottle with hot water and put it between her sheets to warm up the bed."

I think Kit's bed would be really nice for Molly. I love it more than Molly's plus the chenille bedspread is much prettier too.

Heather, I had that same bed! Got mine in 1970. We had to replace the bed, but Diana is using all the other pieces from my original set!

Too funny! I've got the other pieces too! The dresser and hutch are in my room, and the other dresser is in the sewing/doll room. The mirror for it is in the garage. I always wanted the desk when I was little, but for some reason, never got it. I used to ABHOR dusting that white furniture when I was little!

Dust, what was dust? I don't remember doing that as a kid, heck, I barely do it now!

We repainted it all white for Diana so no more gold trim though. We have the hutch on top of the desk and the mirror on top of the long dresser, then we also have the taller dresser.

Aren't the drawers kind of child-sized though, they're not very big or deep.

And hey, don't worry, my 54 year old SIL STILL has her original set too! When I used to do home decorating, I would always see these older sets in guest rooms! Guess lots of us little girls had them! They now have more updated versions, but still very similar.
